Crafting with Kids: Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Ornament

I’m thrilled to be a part of this Trim the Tree Blog Hop, where I’ve teamed up with a bunch of talented bloggers and we’re all sharing DIY Christmas ideas with you.  I had a ton of fun decorating Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Ornaments with my boys recently and I’m here to share how easy it was!  Crafting with Kids is super fun, but sometimes it gets messy and out of hand… this is truly the easiest Christmas Crafting Ornament I’ve ever done with my boys.

I bought a pack of 8 gingerbread cookies with the hole already in them for only $1.29 at Ikea!  I seriously envision making all kinds of cute Christmas crafts with these- garlands, more ornaments, classroom cookie decorating party, name tags on wrapped gifts.

These Gingerbread Cookies from IKEA are just so cute and ridiculously low-priced!

We used clear Elmer’s glue to add sprinkles to our ornaments because I knew we wouldn’t be eating them, but if you’re decorating these as edible cookies, you will want to use frosting instead of glue of course… obviously 🙂

All I did was add a ribbon for hanging…

Then I just let the little guys go to town with Christmas sprinkles!

We let them dry overnight and today we have adorable, kid-made Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Ornaments hanging on our Christmas tree!
