It's time to start thinking about The Big Game coming up soon! Whether your team is playing in the game or not (mine isn't, nor are they ever... note my location on the right side of my blog. Poor me, right?!) it's time to think about what kind of FOOD you'll be enjoying. That's right, this year and pretty much every year it's generally all about the food for me. And the commercials too, which means that whatever food I serve it needs to be delicious and easy so that I can spend less time in the kitchen and more time in front of the TV. Which is exactly what I came up with for this Classic Football Party today- DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza, Ritz Crackers and Classic Coca-Cola.
For an All American Classic Football Party, I love serving pizza, and when I want to save money and bake my own, DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza is always my to-go choice. It's my favorite because it tastes great, and our boys love it because they love stuffed crust. Plus it's made with real mozzarella cheese and California vine-ripened tomatoes. And it's cooked in my favorite oven- my own!
To make it special for the Big Game, I used my football shaped cookie cutter and cut the pizza into little football shapes. It was actually way easier than I thought it would be and I love how they look. Plus it made them so easy to just pick up and eat.
For a delicious, easy to make snack to go on our Classic Football Party Table, I made one of my favorite dips- Cream Cheese dip with Bacon. It goes perfectly on top of Ritz crackers.
Here's the recipe for this delicious dip.
Cream Cheese Dip with Bacon
1 block of cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup shredded cheese (I prefer Colby/Monterey Jack blend)
6 strips bacon- cooked, drained, and crumbled
Dash of the following: salt, paprika and garlic powder, all to taste
Put cream cheese in a stand mixer and whip until fluffy. Add in cheese and bacon until well combined. Add in spices until combined. Spread onto Ritz crackers. Store extra in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Allow dip to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving from refrigerator.
And for drinks, nothing beats this classic!
Served straight from the bottle and with fun paper straws, it's an easy choice for a drink and although I thought about changing out the labels, I decided to keep them as is because I love the classic look that fit right in with my table decor.
I love using paper straws and washi tape because they add a lot to the look of the party table, and can be used in a variety of ways. I used both to make little food toppers for the football pizzas and the Ritz crackers with Cream Cheese Bacon Dip.
And I also used the washi tape along with twine to make a simple little banner on my backdrop.
All three of the main food items I used in this post can be found at Walmart (the Digiorno Pizza and Ritz crackers are on Rollback right now too!)
I've shared some of my favorite ways to make serving food for The Big Game fun, easy, and affordable. What are your favorite traditions for The Big Game? I'd love to hear you share your fun ideas too!
