Family Movie Night: Guadians of the Galaxy!

One of our very favorite things to do here at Gallamore West is to have Family Movie Night.  We all get cozy in our pajamas, we bring out our favorite blankets and big floor pillows, make a special dessert and just enjoy relaxing and watching a movie together.  So our big boys were SO excited when I came home with Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD, along with some Guardians of the Galaxy toys!

All four of our boys went totally crazy for the Big Blastin' Rocket Raccoon Action Figure.  It really is a super cool toy-  the front of the rocket spins and lights up, it shakes when fired, and it even says lines from the movie.

The attention to detail in this toy is really amazing, and our two year old has been running around for days saying it's his favorite toy!
Our boys also LOVE dressing up in costumes so when I saw this Rocket Raccoon costume, I had to grab it.

The big boys were so excited for Daddy to come home to watch the movie that they even made this little sign on the computer and hung it on our front door, like it was a movie theatre sign.  So cute, right?

And to make our Guardians of the Galaxy Family Movie Night complete, I made a popcorn dessert to snack on.

Here's all you need to make this delicious sweet and salty popcorn dessert:

1 bag pre-popped popcorn (I like Trader Joe's Movie Theatre Popcorn the best)
3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 fun size Milky Way candy bars, chopped into pieces

Lay the popcorn out on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  Melt the mini chocolate chips and drizzle over the top of the popcorn.  Sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the top of the popcorn.  Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until chocolate is hardened.  Break into pieces and enjoy!

Family Movie Nights are so much fun because we get to hang out together while in the comfort of our own home.  It's fun to step it up and go all out with a themed Family Movie Night like this sometimes because even after buying the movie on DVD or Blu-Ray, plus a couple of toys and a dessert, we still only spend a fraction of what we would've spent had we gone out to the movies!  I've also blogged about a Sound of Music Family Movie Night and a Despicable Me 2 Family Movie Night.

Looking to pick up Guardians of the Galaxy toys and movie for your next Family Movie Night?  I found the movie in the New Releases movie section at Walmart and the toys were in the toy department near an end cap.

And if your kids are Disney Infinity fans, you can get a $5 Walmart Gift Card when you buy one of these Guardians of the Galaxy characters: Groot, Drax, or Rocket Raccoon between 12/7-12/13, while supplies last.  And another cool thing about the Guardians of the Galaxy DVD is that it come with an exclusive Character O-sleeve, exclusive music zinepack and a 64 page magazine with cast and crew interviews, exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and trivia PLUS a custom “cassette" laptop decal.

I'm off to wrap these up and put them under our tree for some special kids on our Christmas list this year!

What's your favorite movie to watch with your family?  Put Guardians of the Galaxy on your list and let me know what you think.  Have a great weekend! xoxo

My son has that Rocket toy as well and it's so much fun! We finally got to see the movie (the boy saw it in the theater with my parents) last week and I loved it! #client
