It's official... one of our boys has found his wife. She's an adorable blonde haired, blue eyed beauty and she's in first grade just like him and he burst out of his classroom a couple of days ago declaring his promise to marry her and he told me, "So Mommy, I'm going to need lots and lots of roses!"
Cutest thing ever, right? It gets better...
He picked a pretty pink Camilla from our front yard instead- they look like roses and they're free to us. Not wanting a six year old to bring anything glass to school, we decorated a mini Trader Joe's water bottle with washi tape from the dollar section at Target. Quick, easy, practically free, and adorable, right?
He was confident until he saw her in the morning then decided to hide it in the side pocket of his backpack until he got up the nerve to give it to her. The magic moment was at lunchtime. He said everyone asked if they were on a date. They said no. He said they will wait until they are 25 to get married. I exhaled. Then last night he asked me if I wanted to know why she was "the one."
"Mommy, it's because she opened my yogurt for me one day."
True love, six year old style! xoxo
