Kid's Craft: Valentine's Day Bird Houses

Friday, January 17, 2014

I love Valentine's Day!  I'm so excited for fun shaped heart food and adorable crafts.  I love involving our four boys in arts and crafts as much as possible.  So the other day when they came home from school, they were surprised by an art station set up ready to paint their own birdhouses.

Along with the birdhouses on our IKEA easel that I set up right inside the doorway at the top of the stairs right where the boys would see it when they walked in the door, I also made them a batch of our favorite Peanut Butter Chocolate Heart cookies and had them sitting out on a cute heart shaped plate.

The birdhouses are just $1 each at Michael's and Jo Ann's {and they usually have some with a heart shaped cut out, but I already had these in my craft stash}.

I'm loving the little garlands on our easel.  The pom-pom garland is a Christmas clearance item from Pottery Barn Kids, and the heart/burlap garland is in the dollar bins at Target.

The boys loved painting their birdhouses, and now the bird houses are happily hanging in the front yard ready to welcome spring birds.

Cute, easy, inexpensive fun with the boys...
I'm all about that these days because I love my boys and I feel like they are growing up right before my eyes so I want to just grab them and soak in every minute of them being little that I possibly can.

Have a great weekend! xoxo

I'm linking up at Tatertots & Jello.
