How to Host an Amazing & Easy Super Bowl Party with Rubbermaid & Sharpie!

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Rubbermaid and Sharpie but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #RubbermaidSharpie  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

I love hosting parties because I love to decorate, cook delicious food, and bake fun desserts.  But mostly I like to socialize and have fun with my family and friends, so I always try to host a party that allows me to have fun with my creative side while also allowing me time to have fun too.  Thanks to Rubbermaid and Sharpie on sale soon at Target, you can host an amazing and easy Super Bowl Party!

Here's how...

1)  Set up your serving area:  Since it's a football party, an astroturf and white duct tape from the hardware store for table runner that looks like a football field is the perfect touch for the table.  Setting up all of the food, drinks, and desserts on one table will keep it simple for people to just grab their food and get back to the game.

2)  Plan your menu:  Think delicious food that is easy to prep so you won't spend all day in the kitchen.  For my party, I'm going to make Spicy Shredded Pork.  The pork cooks in the crock pot, which is just about the easiest thing ever {I'll share the recipe soon}.  And since it's a fun football party, how about fun football names for all of the food?  Here's what I came up with...

Food:
"Play Offs" Spicy Shredded Pork
"Cheap Shot" chips
"Lateral Pass" lettuce
"Blitz" Black Beans
"Cheap Shot" Cheddar Cheese
"Screen Pass" Sour Cream
"Sack the QB" Salsa
"Gridiron" Green Onions
"Touchdown" Tomatoes
"Offensive Line" Olives
"Goal Line" Guacamole
"Hall of Fame" Jalepenos

Desserts:
"Ball Carrier" Brownies
"Corner Back" Cupcakes

Drinks:
"Rookie" Root Beer
"Pro Bowl" Beer

3)  Set out your serving dishes.  Try to think of a set up that is casual, fun, and easy both during AND after the party.  Hosting is fun, but washing a million dishes afterwards is not.  Rubbermaid storage containers are the perfect solution for easy hosting and easy clean-up!  They are clear so they don't clash with my decorations, and once the party is done I just snap on the lids and the leftovers go straight into the oven.  No transferring out of serving dishes to storage containers, plus my husband already has lunch for the week ready to go in the fridge for him when I store our leftovers in these Rubbermaid storage containers!

Another thing I love about Rubbermaid is that they are strong, durable, BPA-free plastic and that they don't have a million different shapes for the lids.  In fact, there are just 3 different lid sizes for the big box of Rubbermaid storage containers that I bought at Target {along with a set of rainbow Sharpie pens}.
Having only 3 different size lids for 17 different containers is awesome to me because it really cuts down on time spent digging around for the right fitting lid.

4)  Add in some easy decorations.  My big chalkboard is a great backdrop for a football shaped paper lantern and two clipboards with football plays drawn on them with Sharpie pens.  Fun, easy and inexpensive!

Inexpensive football cutouts to write the fun football names for the food using a black Sharpie is seriously so quick and easy to do, but it really adds some fun details to the party.

And speaking of Sharpie, who does not looooove Sharpie pens?  I'm addicted to them, and so are our boys.  They are so vibrant, they come in so many colors, and they make my handwriting look
a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

To keep any drink labels from interfering with my clear Rubbermaid containers and green football color scheme, think about wrapping the bottles with green scrapbook paper attached with double-sided tape.  The "Rookie" Root Beers also have a striped straw attached with twine so there was no mixing up the kids and adults drinks.

5) Fill your Rubbermaid containers with your amazing food, then sit back to enjoy the game...
or the commercials!
