2014 One Little Word: Intentional

For the past couple of years, I've chosen One Little Word to focus on for the year.  Last year my word was Joy, and the year before it was Balance.  I've thought long and hard about what word I wanted to choose for 2014 and after considering Determined and Focused, I decided that my word for 2014 is Intentional.

Life with a family that includes four little boys is busy.  Add in social media and blogging, and sometimes it seems that there is just SO.MUCH.GOING.ON.  I try hard to keep our schedules simple so that we have a lot of family time, and so that our kids can just be kids.  My goal for 2014 is to continue to inhale, so that we have time to just read stories, sit and cuddle, tickle, be silly together, and just soak in the precious time we have with our boys while they're still little and think their parents are the coolest people on the planet :)

I also want to work harder on being intentional in
my relationship with my husband,
being intentional in the work I choose to do with my blog,
be intentional about the things I buy to bring into our home
{Do we really need it?  Does it serve a purpose?  Do I love it?},
and be intentional in my relationships with friends.

As a former busy-bee who felt I had to say yes to everyone and attend every social function, I've learned that quality is better than quantity when it comes to the friend department.  I'm happy to have strengthened some friendships in 2013, developed some new friendships, and great thanks to a failed friendship a few years ago, I have learned to quickly separate myself from toxic friendships.  What a blessing a truly difficult "friend" can be in hindsight, right?

2013 has been an amazing year for me, my family, and this blog.  I'm thrilled to welcome 2014, and hope it is to be filled with many happy memories of intentional living for me, and for you too. xoxo

I decided to do the same thing instead of a bunch of resolutions that I would forget about in a week. My word is "MOVE". Something I need to do both physically and mentally. I'm not sure how yet but since picking my word, it turns over and over again in my mind as if to say, don't forget me! I am looking forward to where I'll end up and what kinds of moves will occur during the next year. Luck and health to you in the New Year. :)
