Three Cheers for Luke! {Birthday Party}

Our sweet Luke turned three recently!  He is a bright, happy, spunky little guy FULL of personality and silliness.  Everytime we asked what kind of birthday party he wanted, he always told us  "Balloons!  A cake!  Candles!  Red!"

So we did a cute little Three Cheers for Luke party full of all of those things, with the main color red {his favorite color- that he calls "ho-ho" for "rojo" in Spanish}, along with a chalkboard background and fun pennant banners.

I used a digital file of scrapbook papers and pennant banners from I bought on Etsy to create all of the printables using Picmonkey with a chalkboard effect.

I love making fabric garlands because they are so cute, quick, inexpensive, but they add an instant fun little flair to any party table.

I usually drive myself crazy with the stress of trying to do it all myself (cooking, cleaning, decorating, printables, etc.) but this time I took the easy route and ordered the lasagna, pizza and garlic bread from our favorite local little Italian restaurant.  The salad and the dip were from Costco, and my mom made the gluten-free pasta.

The chocolate cake was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G... thank you, Costco!

And I made vanilla cupcakes with homemade buttercream also.

I loved using these individual cups of ice cream from Walmart because they make serving ice cream at a party SO EASY!

I did not however love the store label on each of them so I printed out some of the patterned paper from the digital file I bought on Etsy, punched out circles with my big circle punch and just pushed the paper down on the top of ice cream cream cup to cover up the label.  I didn't even have to use glue or tape... waaa-laaaa!  Pretty cool, huh?!

For favors, I made Salted Browned Butter Rice Krispy Treats drizzled with white chocolate and M&Ms.  They were delicious and I'll be sharing the recipe with you on Friday!

I packaged the favors up in these adorable, super inexpensive chevron bags super from Michaels, and I added a thank you tag I made.  I used to send kids home with a bunch of candy and/or a bunch of little toys from our birthday parties, but after coming home from parties with all of that stuff and realizing how much I dislike that, I've started just sending everyone home with one quality favor {one sweet homemade treat or a small book or something like that} so that I'm not filling everyone's homes and tummies with junk! ;)

{I bought that red suitcase as a set of 3 from Amazon for Jake's Red Scooter Party years ago and use them ALL.THE.TIME still!}

I save pretty much every salsa and jelly glass jar I buy because I love using them for cute little vases.  I added pom-poms, fabric and ribbons to some recycled jars and filled them with one bunch of flowers from Costco and put them all over the place.  It was a really inexpensive way to dress up the party!

Usually I fill up our big chalkboard with photos of the birthday boy,  but I switched it up this time and just did a simple paper pennant banner on the chalkboard...

And I filled up a whole door with pictures of the birthday boy instead!

It was really hard to get a good picture of the door, but it's a huge #3 full of pictures of our sweet 3 year old!

As I was going through the pictures to hang on the big #3 door, I noticed a trend with the napping pictures so I gave them their own place.

  They hung on this C-U-T-E chicken wire frame from my favorite little shop, Stitched.

It seemed appropriate after all considering that he has his own hashtag on Instagram for all of his cute napping pictures.  {#wherelukesleeps}

There were cute little striped straws for the drinks...

The plates and napkins and all that stuff were set up on wooden crates, an old vintage scale, and I filled a fun red & white polka dot dish with 3 Musketeers since they had the number "3" in them.

And I just can't throw a party without special labels on the water bottles.  I made these labels using Picmonkey.  I seriously have a crush on Picmonkey... if you use it, I'm sure you do too, right?

There was a cute wreath welcoming everyone at the front door...

and bright balloons everywhere too!

I even sewed a fabric pennant banner to hang on our play set in the backyard.

It was truly a special day {with gorgeous San Diego weather} to celebrate our very special 3-year old, Luke!

We are so incredibly, over the moon in love with this funny, silly, sweet, happy 3 year old and are so excited to watch him as he grows up into an amazing boy.

Happy Birthday Sweet Luke!
