Three Easy Fall Crafts for Kids!

I'm over the moon excited about having our boys home from school for a whole week for Thanksgiving next week!  Whether you have yours home for a few days, a whole week, or all of the time, here are three fun, easy, and budget friendly crafts that our boys love!

We did all three of these fun, easy activities on Veteran's Day.  But I think it would be fun to do one of them each day during Thanksgiving break too.

Sugar Cookie Decorating is one of our very favorite family activities.  Using my favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe {once you try this one, you'll be hooked... it's THE best!} and a simple frosting recipe and whatever sprinkles I had on hand, the boys loved decorating Fall cookies {squirrels, acorns, and leaves}. I used to use food coloring and have a bunch of different colored frosting, but we're really trying to focus on simpler, healthier ways these days.  And guess what?  Not a single complaint about only having white frosting!

So cute!  I gathered up paint, foam brushes, goggly eyes, and glitter in a plastic tub and we headed out to the backyard.  Each boy chose their own rock and got creative with it.  This is Luke's.  He just turned three and I think it's about the cutest rock ever.

We're fortunate to have a pretty cool backyard for living in San Diego.  It's full of big, beautiful trees and other fun stuff so we "hiked" around our yard, gathered up stuff they thought was cool, glued it all to white card stock paper, and labeled everything.  These nature journaling pages now hang in their playhouse in the backyard.  I loved going on our little nature hike because it gave us the chance to slow down and really appreciate all of the different kinds of trees and plants in our yard.

Hope you have a GREAT Thanksgiving week with your family!  I have so, so much to be thankful for, including each and every one of you who visits me here at Gallamore West.  Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting me, thank you for your sweet comments, thank you for your encouragement, and thank you for allowing me to fulfill my dream of being a Stay at Home Mom and Blogger.  This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for YOU! xoxo
