5 ways to enjoy a Special Mom Lunch

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Lean Cuisine, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HonestlyGood #ad

As a busy mom of four little boys, I'm constantly on the go.  Eating healthy meals is always a priority for me, but sometimes I get so busy between the boys, the laundry, the housework, the Soccer Mom and Room Mom duties and more that lunch gets put on the back burner, and I end up skipping lunch or snacking on my little guys' peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  Well, not today!

If you're anything like me, you'll love these 5 tips for enjoying a Special Mom Lunch in the comfort of your own home {and quite possibly while in yoga pants with your hair in a ponytail, right?!}

1.  Get your own food!  I'm stepping away from the orange fish shaped crackers and chicken nuggets.  While shopping for our family for the week at Target, I picked up some special, healthy grownup lunches just for me, like this Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Honey Citrus Chicken.

2.  Set a pretty place setting for yourself.   You deserve some "me" time, even if it is at your own kitchen table.   I rarely pull out the real plates, cloth placements and napkins at lunchtime, but whenever I do, I'm instantly filled with memories of our beautiful honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta where we bought them over 12 years ago.  In the hustle and bustle of every day life with kids, reflecting back on our early married days is a welcome {and oh so distant!} jog down memory lane.

3.  Use your favorite drinking glass, or in my case a blue mason jar.  I love using our special occasion striped straws for everyday use because it's fun, and life should be fun!  And anything wrapped in twine makes me happy.

4.  Take a social media break.  I love sitting down and catching up on all the latest and greatest happenings in social media, but sometimes putting the phone on silent or turning off the computer is a great way to really relax and focus, especially at mealtime.
 {No picture here because I really did put away my phone for this special mom lunch!}

5.  Grab your favorite book.  Even if I only get a few minutes to read, it's so relaxing to me to forget the piles of laundry waiting for me and get lost in a good book.  This one is my favorite because of what my sweet husband wrote in it for me, back when we had just one of our boys.

Want to treat yourself to a
special mom lunch too?

Head to Target {a treat in itself, right?!} and pick up some of Lean Cuisine's New Honestly Good frozen meals, in six different varieties.

Honey Citrus Chicken
Lemongrass Salmon
Pineapple Black Pepper Beef
Plum Ginger Grain-Crusted Fish
Pomegranate Chicken
Roasted Red Pepper Chicken

 I also tried out the Pineapple Black Pepper Beef.  It was delicious!

  Ginger is one of my favorite flavors, so I tried the Plum Ginger Grain-Crusted Fish also and it was amazing too!

Lean Cuisines New Honestly Good Meals are full of 100% all natural, wholesome ingredients.  And I love that the sauce comes in a separate packet so I could add on the perfect amount of sauce myself.  Plus, together with their farmers, they're donating a portion of the vegetables frown for Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Meals to local communities.

Motherhood is busy and fun and tough and full of love... and whether it's a good day home with the kids or a hard day, it is consuming.  Taking time for a Special Mom Meal with NEW Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Meals helps me stay grounded, focus on the important things, pick my battles, and maintain a happy home.

I love that you created a special place for yourself for lunch, and I really love that blue mason jar and straw! I totally hear you about eating off the kids' plate - sometimes lunch consists of a leftover bite of my daughter's mac & cheese! These meals would be a much nicer replacement :)
