I can't think of a better way to spend a summer afternoon than with an Ice Cream Party!

My boys finished their last day of Kindergarten and Second Grade two weeks ago, so we celebrated with a fun little Ice Cream Party with their cousins on their last day of school.

I loved these free chalkboard printables
from Yellow Bliss Road.

Lately I feel like there have been so many sad stories around us, and knowing that life is fragile, I want to savor it, INHALE in the sweetness of our boys, and celebrate our kids.  They both brought home wonderful report cards, adorable art projects, and a DVD of their fun year in their classrooms.  It's always a balance trying to raise nice, polite kids without going overboard on spoiling them, but on this afternoon I tucked away my sugar quotas and let them dig in!

I fell in love with these free Ice Cream Party printables from Loralee Lewis' blog.  The story behind why she created the printables is a sweet, sad story about celebrating a boy named Ryan.  And this sprinkles label was my favorite because it is so true.

"Little Children Sprinkle Life with Laughter"

And I incorporated in these cute little ice cream labels as a banner with some twine to add in more color {in pictures above, but I cannot for the life of me remember where I got them... if you know, please leave me a comment so I can update with the link}.  I've had the same yellow and blue scheme on this table for quite some time now, for Bryce's 1st Bee-Day Brunch, and for this Coffee & Crafting Pinterest Party that I recently hosted.  So it was time to add in a little more color, and those little ice cream labels made into a banner were perfect for that.

And those blue "vintage style" Mason jars jumped in my cart that morning at Target {swoon}.  I adore them.  The ice cream cone holder also jumped in my cart... I wasn't sure on that purchase, but I have used it for ice cream cones, snow cones, and treat pops all in two weeks, so now I'm wondering how in the world I managed without :)

My main goals this summer are to maintain some order in our busy house with the help of our sweet boys, and mostly to just enjoy this season of my life with our four little boys.  I love those boys with all of my heart, and I want them to know that every day.  This Ice Cream Party was such a fun, sweet little afternoon to kick off the beginning of our summer vacation!

I'll be sharing this Ice Cream Party at Tatertots & Jello. xoxo
