Jake's Dinosaur 5th Birthday Party!

Our sweet Jake turned five last month and we celebrated with a dino-mite party!  He had a ton of friends and family here to celebrate, and although it didn't really compare to his 4th birthday party {a vintage Red Scooter Party that was featured on Hostess with the Mostess, Kara's Party Ideas, and more}, Jake was thrilled with his dinosaur party.

I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I normally do at one of our parties and I'm super hard on myself about stuff like that, but I was like 37 million weeks pregnant and I was just glad to get through the day without going into labor!  And honestly when I look at these pictures, I see every shortcut I took because I was exhausted, but when I see Jake's smiling face I realize that my shortcuts didn't matter to him at all.  So I'll skip telling you all of my shortcuts too, and just show you some pictures of Jake's party {finally}!

I loved this photo board I made with pictures of Jake from this past year that I blogged about here.  Narrowing down my favorite pictures of him was the hardest part because he is such a fun, smiling guy!

I had grand plans for a whole dessert table, but when we were at Costco a few days before his party and Jake saw those big Costco cakes, he really, really wanted one of them.  So, in my state of exhaustion, I agreed.  And I have to say that even though in my mind it wasn't nearly as cute as a dessert table, we saved a ton of money, time, and energy by going this route.  And Jake absolutely loved his cake!

I made little chocolate dinosaur lollipops for favors.

The card that his big brother made for Jake was so cute...

and I loved Jake's own artwork on the easel.

I can't believe that our sweet little Jake is already five!  He's graduating preschool in a couple of weeks, and so ready to start Kindergarten.  His first five years flew by in the blink of an eye, and I'm hoping that time will slow down a little here!

Jake is absolutely the sweetest, most easy-going, kind-hearted, silly, free-spirited boy I've ever known.  He was born with a smile and it seems to hardly ever leave his face.  He wakes up singing, smiling, and making me laugh every day.  We are so, so grateful to have Jake in our lives.  He is my sunshine.
