Mama's Gonna Blow!

Or at least that's how we feel sometimes, right?  Like for me... it was this afternoon.  And yesterday afternoon too actually, but I'll just focus on today.  My mom came over and snuggled Luke so well for his morning nap that he ended up napping for hours and hours.  So long that there was no time for an afternoon nap.  And oh wow, did I pay for that all afternoon loooong.

Here's what I looked like while making dinner tonight...

Luckily, we have a great new plan around here.  My sweet hubs came up with this plan himself, probably on an evening when he came home to something like this...

Um yeah, because that's really what I look like when I'm tired :)

So the plan is that every Tuesday and Thursday night, I get a break to do whatever I want/need to do...
run errands {hello, Ikea ALL BY MYSELF last week!}
exercise
catch up on whatever I need to do
craft
Girls Night Out...
anything.
Even sit on my behind at the computer and blog.

And I love it!  But I have to admit, I hear the boys laughing in the tub down the hall right now, and I do hope they ask me to read them their bedtime story {we read every night on the porch, then lay on the grass to look at the stars}.

Tonight, on my break "away" from the boys I want them to need me.   It makes me realize how true this quote is...

“Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” {Elizabeth Stone}

One of my favorite quotes! And I'm sure you DO look like that when you're tired! ;)

I can SO relate to this post. When my hubby takes my son out to play, takes over bath duty, or the like -- so that I can get something done -- all I can think about is how much fun they are having, what I might be missing and it kills me to hear my son's little giggles...
But, we should enjoy a little "me" time now and again. :-)

Great quote and very true! You'll have to tell us how your trip to Ikea goes...we can live through you!

I think everyone has these kinds of days. My sister in law has a standing invitation with us to drop off her boys if she ever needs a break. She does this from time to time. When she shows up we hand her a giftcard that she previously gave to us for these occasions. She then gets to go shopping with that giftcard. What fun!

And we get to spend time with our nephews. Woohoo! By the time she gets them back they are tired, clean, and in their PJ's. They go right to bed when they get home.

We are so glad to be able to do this for her because her husband works and goes to college and can't help out much.

I'm so glad you guys worked a break time out! I'm sure it is a big help to your sanity!

p.s. Those kids of yours sure are cute!
