Peanut Butter Cake and Pinterest

I pinned this Peanut Butter Cake and then I actually made it.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has been completely sucked into Pinterest?!  It's ridiculous how much fun it is for me.  I want to stare at my boards and your boards and all of the boards of people I've never met for hours and hours.

That is until I saw the recipe for this...

On Saturday night when I saw this Peanut Butter Cake that my blog friend Natalie {A Turtle's Life for Me} had pinned, I had all of the ingredients on hand already so I broke myself away from the computer and headed straight into the kitchen to bake.  And I'm so glad that I did.

This peanut butter cake, originally posted on The Girl Who Ate Everything {sent in by a reader} is delicious.  The cake part isn't overwhelmingly peanut buttery, but the icing is peanut butter heaven!  It reminds me of Pioneer Woman's Best Chocolate Sheet Cake, but with oodles of peanut butter instead of chocolate.  Ohhh, maybe I'll make one of the chocolate cakes and one of these and eat them together=  a little slice of heaven, right?

So last night I sat down to write
about this amazing new favorite dessert
and guess what I saw?

Natalie made this cake over the weekend and had just written about it too!  Great minds think alike, right?  So you can check out Natalie's post on it too.

Do you know who she is?  She is the genius behind that "48 Freezer Meals in 4 hours for $98" post that was flying around blog-land like mad earlier this summer.  Amazing, that girl!  We haven't met in real life, but she's one of those blog friends that I feel like I know already.  Plus I'd like to eat dinner at her house because I know she'll have something good to eat.  And Peanut Butter Cake for dessert of course!

My "sugar sugar" board on Pinterest is packed full of sugar and calories and gorgeous desserts.  I'm so glad this one caught my eye enough to pull me away from Pinterest for a bit to actually bake it :)

Oh you are like the biggest ball of sweetness all rolled into one cute, funny little person!! This post just made my whole morning!!! I saw your comment come through on my phone as I was falling asleep last night and I actually drifted to sleep planning out a little feature I wanted to do on you and then I come over here and see this!!! You are the best EVAH!!! And your cake slice is so neat and pretty while mine's all sloppy and runny (and may or may not have been out of the oven for only 4 minutes). Thanks so much for this post and have a fabulous day!!

Hello. Pinterest is fantastic! There are so many lovely lovely images on there I could spend hours and hours looking at it! I do like the look of your peanut butter cake but I'm in England and cups mean nothing to me so I might have to experiment a bit!

I think I'll make this tomorrow. Ever since I hit the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy all I want to do is cook...doesn't matter what it is, but baking is by far the most fun for me. I've been on a muffin kick but my kitchen is full of muffins now so I think I'll make this cake!

Well I ended up making a different cake...I wanted Banana with Peanut Butter Frosting. I did however use your recipe for Peanut Butter Frosting and WOW, it's amazing. I don't think I'll EVER make another peanut butter frosting again. I could seriously just eat this stuff right out of a bowl. In fact, I had some left over so I saved it..after eating a few spoonfuls. Thanks for the great recipe!!
