Bake Sale for Japan!

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Seeing the devastation in Japan is heartbreaking.  We have been so sad for the people of Japan, but feeling like we are so little and thinking "What can we do?"  This quote reminds me that it doesn't matter how little we think we are helping... the most important thing is that we DO help.

"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little. Do what you can."
-Edmund Burke
We wanted to make sure that whatever we did included our boys, so yesterday we had a bake sale for Japan in our front yard!
I made a banner using burlap, jute and freezer paper...
And shirts for the boys also with freezer paper...
Almost everyone who stopped by asked if they could buy this adorable red drink dispenser that I borrowed from my friend. Thanks for loaning it to us, Breanne! I didn't really sell it for a dollar like I told you I did :)
We sold GIANT marshmallow pops dipped in red candy melts with sprinkles...  sugar overload!

And rice krispy treats...
And chocolate chip cookies, all tied with free printable tags from TomKat Studio!

The boys had a ton of fun selling lemonade and treats, but more importantly they made $75 that we are sending to to help Japan!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support the bake sale!  We really appreciate you!
