Our day in Seussville!

Dr. Seuss's birthday was a BIG deal around here! The boys even sang to him and Sam drew him the cutest little card. When I told him that Dr. Seuss is in heaven though he broke my heart when he said, "I'll just save it and give it to him when I go to heaven." UGH! I about cried in my Green Eggs and Ham. That boy is so sweet... too sweet to go to heaven ANYTIME within the next 200 years or so. Okay, back to our fun day...

Of course we ate Green Eggs and Ham and Pink Ink {strawberry milk} for breakfast. I made little cards for the table with quotes from the books about what we were eating.

And I made these white and red chocolate covered "Cat in the Hat" hats for Sam's kindergarten class. I should've done a test round because when I look at the pictures I can tell EXACTLY what I would change to make them perfect next time. But they were for Kindergarteners who were probably just thrilled with the sugar high that a marshmallow dipped in sugar FOUR times gives you to notice my imperfections, right? {just say yes}

For dinner we made a "Cat in the Hat" pizza, shaped like the Cat's hat. My favorite part of the day was when we were eating dinner and the boys called our dinner "a party!" Dr. Seuss was such an amazing author and I love that my boys get to learn so much about what an inspirational person he was {did you know that his first book, "And to think that it happened on Mulberry Street" was rejected thirty something times before someone published it?} When Sam saw a picture of him he said that he looks like "The man on the chicken place... that would be Colonel Sanders @ KFC!" Such a funny and memorable day in our house!

Very fun. I think I'll have to celebrate his birthday next year when Zach will understand.
