Time Out!

Here is the scene is our house the other day...

Sam had to go to time out {the tile in front of our fire place is the designated spot}.  He was upset and crying... and Jake didn't want him to be lonely so he plopped himself down and joined in the tear-fest!  Brotherly love at its finest {especially since Sam was there for smacking Jake with a pirate ship}.

Great memories were made on our Summer Road Trip 2009! We went to Visalia, San Francisco, Sonoma/Napa, Monterey and Santa Barbara all in one week... without one single meltdown in the car. Seriously {except for maybe one... but it was me so that probably doesn't count, right?!} I LOVE road trips with my boys... all three of them! Now to plan our winter road trip... any suggestions?

It's Party Time!

Today is a big day for me... it's the day I've chosen to introduce my new little business to the world! Well, not so much to the world, but to you, my good friends and family. I love being a stay at home mom and I feel so blessed to spend my days laughing with our two little guys, making pancakes, and eating popsicles in the backyard.   I also love being crafty... decorating for parties has become more than just a little hobby for me and I'm absolutely loving the opportunity to help friends and family create special party memories.  So please check out my new blog...!!!

I am not linking my two blogs on purpose so be sure to add my new blog to your blog list, bookmark it, write it on your forehead, follow me... whatever works for you :)  I'll be blogging about parties I have done, along with pictures and posts from some of my favorite sources of inspiration.  And check back often... my first "official" party is just a few weeks away! It's going to be marvelous, stupendous and ooh la la, little Fancy Nancy fans are going to love it!

Let Freedom Ring!

We had a blast celebrating the 4th of July at home with friends this year. We started off with Uncle Sam crafts for the kids, then had a great patriotic dinner {we're talking about watermelon cut into stars and deviled eggs each topped with their own little U.S.A. flag and much more...} followed by swimming in the little pool for the kids, decorating bikes and doing a little bike parade around the neighborhood. After that the kids decorated the annual flag cake, which we ate while watching an awesome little fireworks show in our cul-de-sac! There was an Uncle Sam hat pinata that we didn't even get to... it was an evening full of laughs and fun times on the 4th!

Fun on the Fourth!

4th of July is my very favorite holiday {besides Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc.}  Okay, so it's my very favorite summer holiday!  Here's a little sneak peek of some things I'm working on to celebrate Independence Day this year...

And of course our favorite 4th of July tradition... the annual flag cake!

Here's Sam last year with his cousins at the beach house in Rehoboth, DE.

I'm sad that we're not there right now, but we're looking forward to a fun, festive celebration So. Cal style! {That was the first flag cake that the cousins did all by themselves... no help from Picky Mommy/Aunt Laurie... and it's the cutest little flag cake!}
