Virginia is GORGEOUS!! I would love to live there, if only I could handle the East Coast weather and attitudes... not the attitudes of our wonderful family there. They are all wonderful. Seriously. It's just all the other people that make me cry there. We got honked at about 80 times in DC and we were only there for under an hour. Oh well, it's a great place anyway... to visit.

Our 4th of July tradition

I LOVE traditions and this is one of my favorite traditions of them all... the annual 4th of July flag cake!

Cherry picking

How fun! On 4th of July we drove out to a farm in Purcelville, Virginia to pick fresh cherries. On the way there Sam declared, "I don't like cherries. They are very yucky." Hmm... I think he may have changed his mind.

So, he changed his mind and let us know that he "really, really does like cherries!!"

Cousins, cousins, everywhere!

The best part about our annual vacation is catching up with all of Ben's family members that we only see about once a year or so. This year Sam had a blast hanging out with the 5 Gallamores from Atlanta and 2 of the 3 Vincent boys from Baltimore. As soon as we got home he asked if his cousins could come stay the night... so come on out to California where chimps drive cars and we dine with celebrities every night, especially here in Hemet :)

Gallamore West went East

We took our annual trip east for the 4th of July last week. I was pretty nervous about flying with two little guys, but out of four planes, I only wanted to crawl under my seat and hide once. Not bad, right?! Sam got to go in the cockpit to meet one of our pilots and get airplane wings, so that made up for it all. He was THRILLED, but since I was carrying Jake and half of our earthly belongings at the time, I couldn't reach my camera quick enough to capture the moment. All in all, not too bad, but I'm definitely not jumping on another plane anytime soon.

Jake made sure we knew the safety instructions.


And Sam brought along a good luck ladybug.
