Sam graduated from preschool last night! Technically it wasn't really graduating considering that he has two years more of preschool before Kindergarten because of his November birthday. It was more of a preschool performance. And it was adorable!! Sam was soooo excited to wear his new outfit, which he calls his "little kid work clothes." As you can tell from the picture below, Jake was really entertained by the whole thing :) Actually, he wasn't feeling too well so a nap on Daddy was wonderful for him. Aunt Mandy even brought Sam balloons and a gift... thanks Mandy! He slept with his new Lightning McQueen ball last night!

These boys are soooo silly!! Jake was thrilled with his evening entertainment after escaping from me mid-diaper change. The best part about it was that it was a snack AND entertainment. And Sam wants to know, "Do you like my party hat?!"

Sam was so excited to go horseback riding for the 1st time today. Sure, he's been on a few pony rides, but this was a really big horse! It was a chilly morning and it started pouring rain minutes after we left the farm. But he had a blast and we're glad the rain held off. We weren't even off of the dirt road and he asked, "When can we go back and ride S'mores again?!"
Yesterday was Ben's birthday and we celebrated "pirate" style. Of course Sam was THRILLED with everything... he spoke in this raspy pirate voice the whole time and told me that I make "good pirate food." He led Ben on a treasure hunt in the backyard to find his birthday loot and when I popped the balloons today he said, "Goodbye pirate balloons. I will miss you, but I'll see you again at my pirate party!" Yep, just like his mom. He's already getting ready for his party in November! I hope Ben had a fun time too. I'm surprising him with a less kidlike birthday celebration next week. He works so hard for our family and we love him so much!

It sure does seem that everything is all about Jake lately, but turning one is a HUGE deal here!! Here are the professional pictures we had taken to mark this milestone. He did really well, except for a brief period where his eyes filled with huge crocodile tears. I didn't even realize that the photographer was taking pictures while I was holding him. He recovered well and took the cupcake pictures after crying. Considering he ended up with a 104 degree temperature 2 hours after his pictures were taken and stayed sick for 2 whole days, he did GREAT!!

The boys and I had a great day at Sea World with my mom (aka Nani, Nanners) yesterday. We sure are getting our money's worth from our passes this year! Sam brought his little "Click the Camera" to take pictures of all of his favorite things. Jake actually kept his hat on for 1.3 seconds, which is by far a record for him. And he laughed his head off at everything as usual. Good times at Sea World!

Wow, it sure is HOT here this weekend! We bought this little jungle pool for the boys with a giftcard that Jake got for his birthday last weekend- Thank you Great Grandpa & Grandma Jenson! Sam and Jake loved playing in the pool together. I tried for sooo long to get a shot of them both looking at the camera together, but it was an impossible task today.
