For months now I've been trying to think of a way to rearrange things in our house to create a toy room for the boys. I feel like everyday I trip over toys and I'm constantly trying to organize the toys and find a way that adults and little boys can co-habitate happily in our home. We finally decided that we'd move the treadmill out of the loft and move the toys into the loft. Not the best solution for a number of reasons, but it was the only thing we came up with. On the same day, we were also moving Samuel's toddler bed out of his room and moving him up to a twin bed that we had stored downstairs in the closet. I was busy making labels for the toy tubs while Ben was moving mattresses up and down the stairs and the boys... well, they were around here somewhere too :)
I know, this is thriling, right?! Anywho, I went into Sam's room without a bed in it to start labeling the toy tubs and thought, "This is such a nice big room..." The wheels started turning and I thought, "It's a PERFECT toy room!!" I ran downstairs to tell Ben how BRILLIANT my idea was. We asked Sam if he wanted to sleep in Whale's room with him (yes, we call him Whale too) and he said, "Oh, sure!" So, two nights in a row and they're doing great in the same room and we now have a toy room/library for the boys! While Ben was doing the mattress exchange in and out of the downstairs closet, he pulled out boxes and boxes of books from my teaching days. We made a cozy little corner of Sam's former room into a library, complete with beanbags, little chairs, a big chair for me to read to the boys, and hundreds- literally hundreds- of books. We are so excited- it felt like Christmas here yesterday! And the best part is that it was all FREE- we just moved around stuff we already had. So, bring the kiddos on over and let's play... or read. We're entertaining our first little guests tomorrow- Seth, Eldon, Ethan, and Arriana- and we can't wait to see how they like it.
